Gone Fishing @ Coffs Harbour

It was a rainy day, but our communities made it through the wet weather to come along and spend the day with us. Participants spent the day at Coffs Harbour learning about rock fishing safety gear, lifejackets, understanding the conditions and rock fishing skills. Water safety experts from Maritime NSW, Department of Primary Industries and expert rock fisher Amr Sheiba, shared their expert knowledge and experience with our communities. Local lifesavers and lifeguards from Coffs Harbour Council and Surf Life Saving with support from the local Marine Area Command joined the day providing participants with a practical demonstration of lifejackets and rescues in the water. It was a great way to connect and discuss rock fishing safety with experts in the field and enjoy the company of many communities from across the mid-north coast.
