Beach to Bush 2022
Since 1994, NSW surf lifesavers have been visiting schools in rural and remote areas in regional NSW to educate primary school students about beach, coastal and water safety. The 2022 program was held from 7th to 25th November.
A record number of volunteer surf lifesavers travelled "bush" in November 2022 to meet rural students and deliver important beach and water safety lessons
During Beach to Bush 2022 our committed surf lifesavers met over 10,000 students in our very engaging sessions, continuing the tradition of making make a lasting impact on students and their families when they visit the coastline and waterways.
Students attending the program learnt about the role of surf lifesavers, why they should always swim between the red and yellow flags, how to spot a rip current, what to do if they get into trouble at the beach and the different types of marine life along the coast. Lifesavers also talk about the hazards of inland waterways.

I really enjoyed your presentation because it really taught me some useful things I could be alerted of in the future. The way you guys made it so interesting is amazing. I learnt about swells, rips, tides and to swim between the red and yellow flags. I would love to hear more from you guys so hopefully see you next year.
